What are the symptoms for lyme disease?

Written by sa on November 17, 2011 – 5:25 pm

Some people with Lyme disease have a rash (called erythema migrans) at the site of the tick bite. Early lyme disease symptoms:
• inflammation or contusion distinctively widening
• muscle pains – fatigue or weakness
• rigid or stiff neck
• feeling of having a colds or influenza
• fever
• headache
Lyme disease affects different areas of the body in varying degrees as it progresses. The site where the tick bites the body is where the bacteria enter through the skin. Early lyme disease responds readily to several oral agents (such as doxycycline, amoxicillin, or cefuroxime), which are usually prescribed for 2-3 weeks. Fortunately, less than 5% of tick bites in high-contact areas result in Lyme infections.
